Sharing the Spirit of Christmas with the Heart of Our Treks

Celebrating Christmas in the Andes!  See how we shared the  holiday spirit with the community where our amazing porters live.

Last Christmas wasn’t just twinkling lights and gifts.  It was about celebrating in the heart of the Andes, surrounded by the warmth of community. We had the honour and privilege of spending Christmas Day in the Sacsayhuaman community, the place where many of our incredible porters call home.

The smiles on the faces of the children we met will stay with us forever.

The laughter, the shared moments, the simple joy of the season – it was all a reminder of what truly matters. We played games, shared treats, and made memories that transcend any gift under a tree! Connecting with these wonderful families and sharing in the festivities was an incredibly special way to celebrate Christmas.

The Sacsayhuaman community is more than just a place on a map for us.  It’s the birthplace of the strength, dedication, and spirit that our porters bring to every trek.

Spending time in their village, breaking bread with their families, and seeing the place that shapes them deepens our appreciation for their incredible work.

At Action Peru Treks, our team isn’t just a workforce – they’re an extension of our family. From our guides and porters to our cooks, horsemen, and office staff, their passion and commitment make every adventure unforgettable.

And of course, none of it would be possible without the support of our incredible clients. This Christmas celebration was a reminder that we’re all part of something special, a community built on shared experiences, respect, and a love for the Andes.

Sharing Christmas with the Sacsayhuaman community was not just a day. It’s about the lasting impact of connection and support.  When we invest in the communities where our team members come from, we’re not just helping individuals; we’re strengthening the fabric of the entire region. These children, watching their parents interact with us, see the joy of the celebration – it plants a seed for the future, showing the positive impact of tourism done right.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this Christmas in Sacsayhuaman so meaningful.

Without your support, these moments of joy wouldn’t have been possible.
